Matching your water filtration system to your venue
One Size Fits Nobody: Matching a Water System to the Way Your Venue Actually Works
Ask a venue manager what water system they need and you’ll usually get the name of a machine: a reliable blue machine in the kitchen, a tower like the one at their last hotel, a tap they liked at a conference. The better question is what the water is for. A restaurant floor on a Saturday night, a spa corridor, a conference break, a housekeeping trolley are different jobs, and a system that’s brilliant at one is often not right for another.
That’s why our system range is broad. It isn’t variety for its own sake. It’s a response to the fact that water behaves differently in different parts of a building. Our Blu, tap, hot water and Quattro systems are all mains-fed, filter down to 0.5 micron and use UV sanitisation. What changes is how much they dispense, how they dispense it and who is doing the pouring.

Four questions before you pick a machine
How much, and how fast? Peak demand matters more than the daily average. A system that copes with a quiet Tuesday but queues at a wedding breakfast is the wrong system.
Who’s pouring and do you want portion control? Staff behind a bar, or guests helping themselves in a corridor? That decides whether you need portion control, a push button, or something robust enough to be left alone.
How much space is there? A back bar might take a tower. A boutique spa reception might have a counter and nothing else.
What needs to come out? Chilled still and sparkling are the baseline. Some spaces also want hot water or flavour.
Front of house: when water is part of the service
For busy service, the Blu Glass is built for high or medium volumes. It offers push-button autofill, two portion-controlled settings and a continuous supply of 80–120+ litres, so staff spend less time on water and more time on guests.
Where the dispense point itself is on show, fonts and flow taps take the place of a conventional bar tap. Fonts come in black and chrome. Flow taps come in white, bronze, black and grey, in one-, two- and three-way versions. They are compact, designed for high-volume dispensing, and have the same 80–120 litre continuous supply.
Where counter space is the constraint, the Blu Bar is a compact countertop unit for medium volumes, with a continuous supply of 80 litres. It has an optional free-standing version and a portion-control variant, so a venue with minimal space isn’t forced into a smaller offer.
Self-serve: when guests do the pouring
Some of the best water experiences involve no staff at all.
The Blu Flavour suits lobbies, conference areas and gyms and spas. It gives guests a choice of still or sparkling water with three syrup flavours, drawn from our own range of natural flavours.
Our corridor solutions come in three forms: wall-mounted (singly or in a series), wall built-in, and freestanding. The freestanding unit has three buttons covering ambient, chilled still and chilled sparkling combinations.
For event spaces, offices and lounges, the hot water range delivers hot (98°C) alongside chilled still and sparkling, with a continuous chilled supply of 30 litres. It comes in three formats: the under-counter Blu Glass Tower One, the counter-top Blu Rebel and the premium counter-top Blu Rock. Chilled-only versions are available.

Small spaces: not everything needs a tower
The Blu Soda is a countertop unit for small offices and break-out areas, with push-button dispense and a continuous supply of 10 litres. It dispenses straight to a glass or one of our shorter bottles, and it’s designed to look good front of house. The Office Duo Tap goes smaller still: a compact tap for chilled still and sparkling water where there’s barely room for a unit.
This end of the range matters because over-specifying is a cost too. A venue that buys a high-volume tower for a low-volume job pays for capacity it never uses. Our offices page shows how that plays out in practice.

The back room: the half nobody photographs
Reusable glass only works as a loop: fill, cap, serve, wash, repeat. A dispenser on its own is half a system, which is why the range doesn’t stop at the tap.
The Quattro Filler is a four-bottle gravity-fed system for ambient still water. It fills eight 750ml bottles a minute and is recommended for 400+ bottles a day, which is why it suits large hotels, housekeeping operations and stadia.
The capping machine gives a plastic-free, tamper-evident finish and caps 400–600 bottles an hour.
The Precision Multi-Function Washer closes the loop. We’re the UK and Europe authorised representative for Aquatech BM precision bottle washers. It washes 30 bottles of 750ml–1 litre per wash, and a fixed nozzle kit helps clean bottle necks where bottles are used for juice, milk or direct drinking.
None of this is glamorous, and all of it decides whether a reusable bottle programme runs smoothly in month twelve. Our guides on bottling procedure, bottle washing, capping and storage and Quattro filler maintenance cover the day-to-day detail.

The part the brochure can’t show you: your building
Every system needs a cold, non-softened mains supply through a 15mm BSP isolator valve, electrical sockets at the right height, and CO2 for anything sparkling. Some need a drain point or a minimum work surface; the Quattro, for example, needs a table at least 1,200mm wide.
That’s why the honest answer to “which system?” often starts with a site visit. Where’s the cold mains? Where’s the nearest socket and the drain? How wide is the counter? The building tends to settle questions a brochure leaves open. Our Choose the right system page is a good place to start, and the filtration guide explains what’s happening inside the cabinet.
Sizing is an economic decision, not just a practical one
Right-sizing also changes the maths. According to the EcoPure Effect 2026 Report, the cost per bottle falls from 27p at 50 bottles a day to 19p at 200. Volume is the lever, which is why a system sized to your real demand, rather than someone else’s, makes such a difference. Our savings calculator can model a venue’s own numbers.
For hotels, care homes, golf clubs, caterers and the other venues we work with, the pattern is the same. The right answer is rarely one machine. It is usually the right system for each space, run by one team who knows the whole site. You can see how that plays out in our case studies.
FAQ
How do I know which system is right for my venue? Start with four things: peak volume, who will be dispensing (staff or guests), the space available, and whether you need still, sparkling, hot or flavoured water. Our Choose the right system page walks through the options, or contact the team for a recommendation.
Do the systems need special installation? Yes. Typically an electrician fits 13-amp sockets and a plumber connects a 15mm BSP isolator valve to the cold, non-softened mains. A drain point is optional on most systems and required for the Quattro. Sparkling systems also need food-grade CO2 bottles, which the client supplies. Exact requirements vary by system.
Can one venue use more than one system? Yes. A high-volume tower can serve a restaurant while a countertop unit serves a spa and a self-serve unit sits in a corridor, all from one supplier relationship.
Do I need the Quattro filler, capping machine and washer? It depends on volume. The Quattro is recommended for 400+ bottles a day and fills eight 750ml bottles a minute. The capping machine handles 400–600 bottles an hour, and the washer cleans 30 bottles per wash. Smaller venues often need only part of the loop.
Is the water filtered and sanitised? The Blu, tap, hot water, Duo and Quattro systems all filter down to 0.5 micron and include UV sanitisation. Our filtration guide explains how it works.
What hot water options are available? Our hot water range delivers water at 98°C alongside chilled still and sparkling, with a continuous chilled supply of 30 litres. It is available as the under-counter Blu Glass Tower One, the counter-top Blu Rebel or the premium counter-top Blu Rock, and in chilled-only versions.
What happens if a system develops a fault? Every client gets a 24-hour fix, a dedicated engineer and a real person on the phone, never a bot. See the full troubleshooting guide for common issues.
